Гигантские змеи

Наткнулся на сайт посвященный гигантским питонам и удавам современным и доисторическим.
На том сайте меня заинтересовали следующие описания  :

Hutchinson (1985) reports remains from Florida that were associated with whale remains and were probably deposited more than 300 km from land in the Middle Eocene. Holman (2000) suggested this large sea going snake drank sea water, had salt glands, and had a life style similar to modern sea snakes. He reports the length of the largest vertebrae was 24 mm, assuming 270 vertebrae this snake may have exceeded 6 m.

Palaeophis colossaeus is known only from Eocene age vertebrae collected near Tamaguilet, Mali, Africa. The vertebrae were 40.1 mm in length, and Rage (1983) estimates a length that exceeds 9 meters. This species does not show the compressed vertebrae that suggests an aquatic life style found in other members of the family Paleophidae.

Также в Эоцене существовала водная ( может быть морская если верить ВИКИ http://en.wikipedia./wiki/Palaeophis) змея   , достигавшая 9 метров в длину.

Так же там упоминается еще об одной достаточно водной ( или морской ) большой змее.

Так же на одном из сайтов мне попался вопрос, на который не было ответа :

Ага... так значит палеофиды - это и есть "гиганты моря" - те самые раннекайнозойские гигантские морские змеи, которые, по мнению Еськова, попытались захватить нишу морских ящеров? (мозазавров прежде всего).
Интересно, что помешало и почему палеофиды вымерли... - конкуренция с совершенными кайнозойскими акулами? Или хищные китообразные?

Может быть у кого-то есть соображения?
Где у Еськова можно найти упоминания о палеофидах?

П.С. Это еще одна попытка больших рептилий колонизировать океан.

Где у Еськова можно найти упоминания о палеофидах?

Абсолютно гениальный вопрос. То есть самому пролистать книгу или включить в ней поиск на слово "змея" лень, пусть другие делают.

Спасибо, но я смотрел этот фильм. Титанобоа не была морской змеей - ее образ жизни был похож на образ жизни современной анаконды, поэтому она интересна  лишь размерами.
